Did You Vote for Dino
What if my wife had voted for Dino Rossi, instead of the Libertarian candidate? He'd only be seven votes behind. What if seven other people did the same? I can name at least two more from my family. Makes you think, huh?
I told Jennifer that I'd tease her a lot if Dino lost by one vote. Of course, I told her it was perfectly all right... even I thought he didn't have a prayer. I guess I believed the polls.
I actually met Dino twice, back in 1996. He didn't come off as a very approachable guy, and judging from his appearances on television, not much has changed. If I remember correct, he was pretty tall, but a lot of people are "pretty tall" to me. I ran into former Governor Booth Gardner once too, but I didn't realize who he was until later. Somehow he knew my name. Weird.
I'm digressing. The fact is, if eight more people had voted for Dino Rossi, all we'd have done is prevented the Democrats from stealing the election. They succeeded, but I think we still know who won.
Remember back in the good old days when I tried to not be so obviously partisan? I guess I just realized you can't pay lip service to rubbish.

Congratulations, You Stole the Election
Keep counting until they win, right?
Democratic State Party Chairman Paul Berendt says recount results from King County give Democrat Christine Gregoire an eight-vote statewide victory over Republican Dino Rossi in the governor's race. The report is very preliminary, and neither King County nor the Republican party could confirm the hand recount results tonight.
But if the Democrats' analysis is right, it's a stunning reversal of fortune in the closest governor's race in Washington history. Rossi won the first count by 261 votes and won the machine recount by 42 votes.
"We're confident Christine Gregoire has been elected the governor of the state of Washington," Berendt said. "I believe Dino Rossi should concede."
Absolutely ridiculous. Remember how this was a "tie" for so long? Now Gregoire wins by EIGHT votes, and it's a win! I wish I knew what to say.

Far More Confusion
Last night I went back to bed and Jennifer asked where I'd been. Huh? Where had I been? She wanted to know where I'd been for the last half hour. Well, I had been somewhere, hadn't I? I remember crawling back in bed thinking I'd missed Jennifer. But for the life of me, I have no idea where. But three of Jennifer's donuts are missing. And I don't even like them. Maybe this explains why I can't lose weight.
Meanwhile, we've got a solution for marchdecember finally. Yay!
And I'm so busy this week. I've got a quiz in French on Thursday, immediately followed afterward by an Essay Final in Econ. Then Saturday I have a French final, and Monday I have another Econ final! To top it all off, Cho keeps staring at me, but is she looking at me, or thinking about Cedric?

Muddled in Confusion
That's where I am. I have two very different ideas of what I want the site to be, and I can't decide between them. One is probably a lot easier to manage than the other, but the other is probably a lot better choice. Or maybe not. I don't know, but my primary choice is whether or not we get rid of the two column system. I haven't had much input from December on it. She seems to be okay either way. I kind of wish she had an opinion one way or the other. It would make my job a lot easier... you get that way when you get married and you just start doing whatever your wife wants.
Here in Washington we're still in the midst of an election, as Christine Gregoire is asking for a third, less accurate recount. And then, of course, when the Democrats win, we'll stop the recounts. That's how it works, no? Count, recount, recount, stop counting when you win. And the Republicans are just supposed to accept this. It's absolutely ridiculous, and I can only hope Gregoire doesn't get away with it. She will truly be an illegitimate governor, and she will have a majority of voters who oppose her.
We're going down to my parents for steak, but I just wanted to say something, since I hadn't posted for like a month, and since Turtle was sick of looking at the Canadians.
