Seen, Heard, Said (11/12/05)
Some strange person in a red Toyota Matrix was taking camera pictures of my car as we drove south on 522 near Lake City. I should have responded in kind, but my camera phone takes lousy pictures.
I've mastered Pocketful of Stars now, so I got a score of 102,000, and that's only because I got bored and had other things to do, so I just let the six minutes of remaining clock time run out. It's a beautiful game though, it is.
Why are people so adamant that mass transit is our solution to traffic problems? At no point has mass transit EVER solved congestion. Q13 is doing a look at Seattle in the year 2013, and they claim that in eight years a lot more people will be using mass transit, and a lot more people will be living in the city itself, in condos especially. Give me a break. Condos are great when you are in your 20s and single. Condos stink once you get married and start a family. Then you want to move out into the suburbs, where you can have a backyard for the kids and a garage for your SUV. The suburbs are too big and too spread out for effective mass transit, so guess what? You're back to the freeways. People who push mass transit are truly living in la la land and it really, really irks me.
