The New Nokia 7710

The new Nokia 7710 widescreen smartphone includes:

Widescreen with pen input Handwriting recognition HTML browser supports Flash 6 Up to 90 MB internal memory, 128 MB MMC card 1.23 Megapixel carmera (1280 x 960) Music player with stereo audio Audio and video playback and streaming FM/Visual Radio

Oh, also, you can make phone calls with it too. And it has a great carmera.

Nice phone, but it's huge! I like my tiny little Nokia... it takes crummy pictures, and it doesn't have a music or video player (it does have a radio), but it's tiny. It fits in the palm of your hand and nicely in your pants pocket. This looks like a nice PDA, but it doesn't look like a very good phone.

I find this to be a problem with phones recently. A few weeks ago, Jennifer and I met Timmy/Turtle at Zoopa's, and then headed over to the Cingular store with Tim, who wanted a new phone. And I didn't see a single phone I liked. The RAZR phone is cool, but it's actually pretty big. And they have some really small flip phones, but the truth is I don't like flip phones. I like a phone you can just beat to death, and then after a couple years buy a new one. If I had to get a new phone now, I don't know what I'd get. I like features too, but not at the expense of size. I'm not sure what the 7710 gives you that a PDA can't. I guess it's that all in one solution, but I think people want an all in one solution that's a lot smaller. I'm talking iPod nano smaller.

UPDATE: Brian at the Daily BJ thinks the Nokia 7710 and the Sony PSP have an awful lot in common here. And you know, I see it too! A video game machine that's a phone is a stupid idea... (see: N-Gage) but a phone that doubles as a video game machine, that's not so bad.

Speaking of which, I just got my new phone and number - I left it on your voice mail, but I don't know if you got it or not.

Also, my new phone is badass:
